VBS Compassion Camp wrapped up last Friday evening with families enjoying a week of music, Bible Stories, crafts, family-style mealtime and acts of compassion. They acted out the story of the paralytic being brought to Jesus for healing by his friends (Mark 2:1-12) and heard other Bible stories about loving their neighbors as themselves and how God makes all things new. They made cards of compassion to give to others, made paper chains with compliments on each section for members of their family, wrote encouraging notes on the sidewalk using sidewalk chalk and made meatloaf for Matt Talbot. They learned self-compassion by doing daily yoga and decorated pillowcases to remind themselves to have self-compassion. On the last day, they all read our Welcome Statement and discussed how we welcome all because God welcomes all – one of the best ways we can all show compassion and love to others!
