Last week, the Wild Women of First Lutheran turned an ordinary Monday into a mystery-filled masterpiece with A Birthday Mystery. Picture this: a gourmet dinner, a colorful cast and a whodunit that would make Agatha Christie proud—all thanks to Wild Woman Karen Statham, who wrote the script that kept everyone guessing.
The Scene:
To boost the budget, First Lutheran launched a fun idea—customized birthday parties complete with gourmet food, hosts, waitstaff and cleanup. This one celebrated Rosemary, the birthday girl (and self-proclaimed hypochondriac), whose party turned into a murder mystery before dessert!
The Cast:
Kristi hosted the chaos as the pastor/manager.
Kari played Rosemary, the dramatic birthday girl.
Alissa was Marjorie, the budget-savvy banker.
Sandy brought calm as Melanie, the peace-loving hippie.
Julianne charmed as Malerie, the bubbly Valley girl.
Karen was Molleny, the tough truck driver turned sleuth.
Trish delighted as Cook, the French chef with flair.
Rosemary (yes, another!) served as the impeccable Waitress.
Lillie brought energy to Harris, the self-taught detective.
The Plot:
What began as a lovely dinner took a dark turn when Rosemary met an untimely end. With secrets surfacing and clues unfolding, the Wild Women dove into detective mode—boldly, hilariously, and with plenty of sass—until the culprit was caught.
The Twists:
A round of “Truths and Lies” revealed fun surprises:
- One woman rowed beside an Olympic medalist.
- Another was a state speech champion.
- One was the best of her high school synchronized swimming team.
- And one is allergic to fresh fruits and veggies!
The Verdict:
The Wild Women delivered another night of laughter, intrigue and generosity—collecting female hygiene items for Women in Community. If you missed it, you skipped an evening of good food, drama and top-notch sleuthing.
