60 Minutes of Generosity at Advent Drive Through

By November 23, 2020Events, News

The generosity, love and care on display by those who attended yesterday’s Advent Drive Through and those who carried out the event made any pandemic blues disappear. The steady stream of cars driving through for 60 minutes was impressive, but more importantly, appreciated.

Advent calendars were gifted to each car, Fair Trade product purchases were made and future orders taken, Advent Activity Kits were given to the kiddos, a “Thanksgiving Tree” was created with each passer-by adding a gratitude leaf to it,  the sound of Noisy Offering filled the air again after 9 months of being silenced to support the Band of the Strong, and a food drive for the Lutheran Food Pantry yielded 2,666 cans of food – 2,166 more than our goal!  And, the last stop in the drive through was a surprise stop with donut holes to go (a Sunday morning staple at First Lutheran)!

We are so thankful to everyone for their generosity and support. Thank you also to the Fellowship committee for planning the event and bringing generosity and a bit of “normalcy” for 60 minutes.
