We are beginning a new study group on Tuesday, September 5, at 5:45 PM, and Wednesday, September 6, at 10:30 AM. The study will be based on the By Heart curriculum. The 7-session course is for adults who are new to the faith and have never encountered the Small Catechism and for longtime Lutherans who studied and memorized it as adolescents or teens. It is for those who assume that the original document requires no further explanation and that we should simply pick it up and start reading (or memorizing). It is also for those who find scripture to be an inaccessible forest of words, the Creed and Lord’s Prayer to be rote exercise, the sacraments to be obscure rituals and Martin Luther and his innovations to be largely irrelevant.
