On Thursday, day four of VBS, we focused on prayer. We heard the story of the Lord’s Prayer and sang The Caribbean Lord’s Prayer. In science we learned about meditation and dance as forms of prayer. The kids visited the prayer garden and learned to say a prayer in sign language. Our preschoolers made prayer chains and drew prayers on the sidewalk. All kids received a prayer pillow with a pocket to put prayers in. They learned the 5 Finger Prayer and received a laminated heart with a reminder of how to do the prayer on it. The heart slid nicely into the pocket of the pillow. Thanks to Our Saviours Lutheran Church sewing group and First Lutheran members, Judy Bailey and Laura Graulty, for making the pillows.
