The Longest Night: A Service for Those Hurting During the Holidays

By December 11, 2023News

During the holidays, not all our memories or experiences are joyful, and sometimes, getting through the holidays is very difficult. Mourning the death of a loved one, being far from home, suffering from illness or addiction, loneliness or being in conflict with another – these may all be reasons that Christmas can be a painful time for some. We are offering a special service for reflection and support on Wednesday, December 20, at 6:30 PM (no noon service or soup lunch/supper). We gather in the midst of suffering to remember that God is good, God is strong and God is near. Join us in sharing and hearing prayers, Scripture and music that acknowledges God’s presence for those who mourn and those who struggle and that God’s Word comes to shine light into our darkness. Everyone, regardless of church background (or lack of it), is welcome. Invite someone you know who needs extra support this holiday season.
