Thursday Accompaniment Update from Florida

Our team of high schoolers and adults are on the road heading back home to Lincoln from their week of accompaniment in Florida. They will be home early afternoon on Sunday. Pray for safe travels for them and no vehicle breakdowns!
Here is a recap of yesterday’s happenings…
It is a late night, but a good last day. We helped with Faith Lutheran’s food pantry today. (That’s the church we are staying at). We unloaded the pallets from the food bank then packed two bags of groceries for each shopper that would come by from 5-6:30 pm when the food pantry opened. In the afternoon, we went to Siesta Keys Village for some souvenir shopping and once back at the church we helped with final set up for food pantry and then helped distribute food. We finished our last night with worship on the beach and a gorgeous sunset. ~Sharon H.
We had to wake up at 7am to start our day and then we got ready to set up the food for people that have food insecurity. Then we walked around the beach shops and we shopped and got some good ice cream. Then we opened the food bank and served over 100 families. We went to the beach and did vespers (worship) then we watched the sunset and swam. ~Maya T.
