Tuesday’s Faith Thought…The Welcoming Prayer

Sometimes we struggle to accept the “bad” things in our lives. We want to rail at God and we wonder why God has placed such a burden on us. The Welcoming Prayer can help us draw closer to God and recognize that God is in all things and is always teaching us how to draw closer. Sit quietly, calm your mind and pray the Welcoming Prayer to find peace with all that is. How does it feel to give up the desire to control and overcome what is happening today? And if you still want to rail at God, God can take it.

Welcome, welcome, welcome.
I welcome everything that comes to me today
because I know it’s for my healing.
I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons
situations and conditions.
I let go of my desire for power and control.
I let go of my desire for affection, esteem,
approval and pleasure.
I let go of my desire for survival and security.
I let go of my desire to change any situation,
condition, person or myself.
I open to the love and presence of God and
God’s action within. Amen
